From Wine to Worth: How Divorce Became My Gift
When I was going through my divorce, wine became my go-to escape. I had two young children and carried the heavy weight of guilt, feeling like I had failed them by not giving them the “perfect” two-parent household. Every glass of wine was my way of silencing those thoughts and numbing the pain.
But what I didn’t realize at the time was that wine was only keeping me stuck. It wasn’t protecting my children. It wasn’t making me stronger. It was only taking me further away from the life I truly wanted to build.
Now, with clarity, I see my divorce differently. I see it as a gift. A gift that gave me the chance to create a household full of respect, love, and laughter. A gift that showed my children what it looks like when their mom chooses herself and her health. A gift that allows me to model what a happy, healthy marriage looks like.
My glow up isn’t just about me, it’s about them. It’s about showing my kids that strength comes from choosing what’s right, even when it’s hard. That respect and love matter more than keeping up appearances. And that life beyond alcohol, beyond pain, is brighter than I ever could have imagined.
