Muscle Is the Only Thing You Can’t Buy

You can buy a lot of things—weight loss drugs, filler, Botox, hair extensions (guilty on that one) but you can’t buy muscle. You can’t fake it. Muscle is earned.

Walk into a room full of women and the ones with muscle stand out not because of vanity, but because muscle tells a story. It’s the story of dedication, discipline, and strength. It’s a story not everyone knows.

For years, my only goal was to be skinny. To see the lowest possible number on the scale. And I won’t lie, I still have those thoughts from time to time. But now, when I show up to work out most mornings, my focus is different. I lift and move my body to be strong. To live a long, healthy life for myself, and for my family.

Because here’s the truth: you command a different kind of attention when you walk into a room fit and strong. And I know what it feels like to be chubby it doesn’t feel good.

So if you’re a bit chubby—or a lot—where do you start? Start small.

  • Go for a walk today (bonus points if you listen to Diet and Fitness Explained by William Porter on Audible).

  • Swap out chips for an apple.

  • Or if that feels too extreme, weigh out one serving of chips instead of finishing the whole bag.

Small shifts like these start to change your mindset and your relationship with food and movement. And when you’re ready, add in strength training. That’s when everything changes your confidence, your energy, your body, your life.

Because muscle? It can’t be bought. But it can absolutely be built. And you are 100% capable of building it.
